Social Studies 10 at R.C. Palmer Secondary continues building the historical and analytical skills developed in earlier grades. The course explores how global and regional conflicts have shaped modern identities, how politics and economics influence societies, and how Canada’s history connects to its current national identity.

Students examine issues such as political institutions, economic ideologies, Indigenous governance, and truth and reconciliation. Through these topics, students learn to interpret, analyze, and communicate their findings clearly and thoughtfully. They also investigate Canada’s development in a global context, examining how events, decisions, and conflicts have shaped who we are today.
