In this course you will be reading books, analyzing theories, and practicing your writing skills. The main point of English literature is to have the ability to dive deeper into the meaning of texts and the complexities.
Kids will be learning three core competencies: communication, thinking, personal/social awareness. We hit these core competencies by reading and exploring text to enhance our ability to make connections, enjoy the creativity, and help us understand our worldviews/perspective.
English does not have to be boring old writing or constant analyzing of texts. It can be fun! Many teachers at Palmer make sure to provide the best experiences for our students. For example, writing your own creative stories, creating projects such as a huge poster about a book the class is reading, and even games like jeopardy to understand certain grammar topics!
